0176. Ukraine - Sanzhiiskyi (Sanzheyskiy) Lighthouse


The Sanzhiiskyi Lighthouse is located North-East of the mouth of the Dnister and South-West of Odessa.  The Sanzhiiskyi is one of the South Coast Lighthouse in Ukraine.

Sanzhiiskyi Lighthouse was commemorated by Ukrainian State Enterprise of Posts (UKRPOSHTA) with the release of 2.00 UAH stamp on 8-Oct-2010.  This is 1st of the six stamps featured in the "The Lighthouses of Ukraine" series released in 2010.

The SANZHIISKYI Lighthouse:
  • Tower is OCTAGONAL CYLINDRICAL masonry
  • Tower painted WHITE
  • Lantern dome painted GREEN
  • Height is 19 metres
  • Colour scheme of the LIGHT is GREEN
  • LIGHT character is TWO FLASHES every 15 seconds

0152. Ukraine - Berdyansk Nizhniy Lighthouse


The Berdianskyi Lighthouse is located at the end of a long, hook-shaped spit South of Berdyansk.  The Ukrainian coast features four long sand spits projecting to the South.  The Lighthouse is in the area of Sea of Azov, connected to the rest of the Black Sea by a very narrow Kerch Strait.  The Lighthouse is accessible by boat. 

Berdianskyi Lighthouse was commemorated by Ukrainian State Enterprise of Posts with the release of 1.50 UAH stamp on 30-Oct-2009.  This is 6th of the six stamps featured in the "The Lighthouses of Ukraine" series released in 2009.

Built in 1860, the BERDIANSKYI Lighthouse:
  • Tower is OCTAGONAL masonry
  • Tower painted RED and WHITE HORIZONTAL bands
  • Height is 22 metres
  • Colour scheme of the LIGHT is WHITE
  • LIGHT character is 4.5 seconds ON ; 3 seconds OFF

0151. Ukraine - Sarych Lighthouse


The Sarych Lighthouse is located at the Southernmost point of the Crimean peninsula as well as Ukraine and South-East of Sevastopol.  This was one of the Light stations occupied by Russian Navy personnel.

Sarych Lighthouse was commemorated by Ukrainian State Enterprise of Posts with the release of 1.50 UAH stamp on 30-Oct-2009.  This is 5th of the six stamps featured in the "The Lighthouses of Ukraine" series released in 2009.

Built in 1911, the SARYCH Lighthouse:
  • Tower is ROUND TAPERED cast-iron
  • Tower, Lantern and Gallery painted WHITE
  • Height is 15 metres
  • Colour scheme of the LIGHT is WHITE
  • LIGHT character is 3 seconds ON ; 3 seconds OFF

0150. Ukraine - Vorontsovskyi Lighthouse


The Vorontsovskyi Lighthouse is located at the end of a curving breakwater that protects the South-Eastern corner of Odessa's harbour.  The Lighthouse is accessible only by boat.  Odessa oblast (province) is the Westernmost section of the Ukrainian coast.

Vorontsovskyi Lighthouse was commemorated by Ukrainian State Enterprise of Posts with the release of 1.50 UAH stamp on 30-Oct-2009.  This is fourth of the six stamps featured in the "The Lighthouses of Ukraine" series released in 2009.

Built in 1954, the VORONTSOVSKYI Lighthouse:
  • Tower is ROUND CYLINDRICAL concrete
  • Tower painted WHITE
  • Lantern painted RED
  • Height is 26 metres
  • Colour scheme of the LIGHT is RED
  • LIGHT character is THREE FLASHES every 12 seconds

0149. Ukraine - Yaltinskiy Lighthouse


The Yaltinskiy Lighthouse is located at the end of the Yalta breakwater, which extends South-Westward parallel to the shoreline.  The Lighthouse is one of the best-known Lighthouse(s) in Crimea.  The Lighthouse is in the diamond shaped peninsula of Crimea and is one of the Yalta Lighthouse(s) in Ukraine.

Yaltinskiy Lighthouse was commemorated by Ukrainian State Enterprise of Posts with the release of 1.50 UAH stamp on 30-Oct-2009.  This is third of the six stamps featured in the "The Lighthouses of Ukraine" series released in 2009.

The YALTINSKIY Lighthouse:
  • Tower is OCTAGONAL CYLINDRICAL masonry
  • Tower painted WHITE
  • Lantern and Gallery painted WHITE
  • Height is 12 metres
  • Colour scheme of the LIGHT is RED
  • LIGHT character is 3 seconds ON ; 4.5 seconds OFF

0148. Ukraine - Luparevskiy Lighthouse


The Luparevskiy Lighthouse is located on the East coast of the Bug on the south side of Lupareve.  This Lighthouse is the second range for vessels bound upstream (North) in the estuary.  The Lighthouse is in the Mykolaiv Area of Ukraine.

Luparevskiy Lighthouse was commemorated by Ukrainian State Enterprise of Posts with the release of 1.50 UAH stamp on 30-Oct-2009.  This is second of the six stamps featured in the "The Lighthouses of Ukraine" series released in 2009.

The  LUPAREVSKIY Lighthouse:
  • Tower is SQUARE masonry
  • Tower painted WHITE ; Front face is painted RED with a WHITE vertical stripe
  • Height is 10 metres
  • Colour scheme of the LIGHT is RED
  • LIGHT character is a CONTINUOUS FLASH

0147. Ukraine - Kyz-Aulskyi Lighthouse


The Kyz-Aulskyi Lighthouse is located on the point of the Cape, South-East of Jakovenkove and helps guide ship(s) to the entrance of the Kerch Strait.  The Lighthouse is in the diamond shaped peninsula of Crimea and is one of the Black Sea Lighthouse(s) in Ukraine.

Kyz-Aulskyi Lighthouse was commemorated by Ukrainian State Enterprise of Posts with the release of 1.50 UAH stamp on 30-Oct-2009.  This is one of the six stamps featured in the "The Lighthouses of Ukraine" series released in 2009.

Built in the year 1876, the  KYZ-AULSKYI Lighthouse:
  • Tower is OCTAGONAL masonry
  • Tower painted BLACK and WHITE VERTICAL stripes
  • Lantern painted WHITE
  • Height is 28 metres
  • Colour scheme of the LIGHT is WHITE, RED or GREEN depending on direction
  • LIGHT character is a FLASH every 6 seconds
