0074. Cyprus - Cape Kiti Lighthouse


The Cape Kiti Lighthouse is located at the South-West entrance point of Larnaca Bay.  The Cape Kiti is formed of cliffs, 12 meters high.  The white cliffs on the eastern side of the Cape, although low, are conspicuous from seaward.  The Lighthouse is on a promontory (high ridge of land or a rock cliff jutting out into a body of water) at Kiti.  

Department of Postal Services, Cyprus commemorated the Cape Kiti Lighthouse by the release of Euro 1.71 stamp on 4-May-2011

Built in unknown date, the Cape Kiti Lighthouse:
  • Tower is OCTAGONAL stone
  • Tower attached to 1-storey keeper's house
  • Tower is UNPAINTED
  • Lantern painted WHITE
  • Height is 8 meters
  • Colour scheme of LIGHT is WHITE
  • Light character is a 3 (three) FLASHES every 15 seconds
