0047. Australia (Western Australia) - Casuarina Point Lighthouse



The Casuarina Point Lighthouse is one of the Australia's most unusual appearing Lighthouse.  Its Black-and-White tower design is said to have been recommended by a local Scots sailor.

The Western Australia Casuarina Point Lighthouse was commemorated by the Australia Post by the release of 50c stamp on 2-May-2006.

Built in the year 1970, the CASUARINA POINT Lighthouse:

  • Tower is CYLINDRICAL
  • Tower is painted BLACK and WHITE CHECKERBOARD pattern
  • Base of the Tower is painted BLACK
  • Height is 25 metres
  • Colour scheme of the LIGHT is WHITE
  • LIGHT character is 3 (three) FLASHES seperated by 2.4 sec. every 15 seconds
