Cape
Santiago Lighthouse is in Batangas Province, a first class province of
the Philippines located on the South-Western part of the Luzon Island in
the Calabarzon region. The Lighthouse differs from Isla de Cabra and Punta Capones chiefly in being ROUND rather than SQUARE.
The Lighthouse withstood typhoons, earthquakes and other calamities. It even withstood the Spanish, American and Japanese wars. The Lighthouse is said to be the oldest structure in Calatagan. The Lighthouse serves as a guide to vessels from Manila heading to the Southern islands of Visayas. It also guides ships heading towards Manila. The Lighthouse is providing active passageway for more than a century.
