Bagacay Lighthouse is one of the earliest Lighthouses to be built in the Philippines by the U.S.administration. The light marks the entrance to the Mactan Channel, which leads to the Cebu city. The Lighthouse is located on the point near Liloan, about North-East of Cebu city. Bagacay Lighthouse is in Cebu Province along the East Coast in the Central Visayas Region of Southern Philippines.
The Bagacay Light was originally established in 1857 by the then ruling Spanish Government. For over 100 years, the Lighthouse has provided guiding light to mariners, navigators and fishermen from coastal towns in Northern Cebu.
Bagacay Lighthouse was commemorated by Philippines Post in its Lighthouse Stamp Series - I with the release of 6 peso stamp on 22-Dec-2005.
